We are seeking the origin of George Worsfold b
ca 1773, carpenter, who married Mary Sperry 19 October 1794 at Tempsford,
Bedforshire. He is thought to have been a journeyman carpenter and thus
may have come up from Surrey or Sussex. |

George Worsfold born 1806 Ripley & Send, Surrey.
He married Elizabeth (possibly Hopkins)
They had 7 children:-

John, Elizabeth, George, Emma and Mary were all born at Ripley &
Send. Henry and Jane were born at Stoke next Guildford.
Emma, my great grandmother married George Wilkins
of Byfleet, Surry and they went to live in Burton/Duncton where,
I believe, George Wilkins worked as a gardener at Burton Hall. |

my father Robert Ernest born West Ham 1918
my Grandfather Walter, who died in late 1927 aged 49
and married Ellen Wilson in 1907. Walters father was Jesse, as yet
we have no information about him except he was deceased at the time of
Walters marriage.

My areas of interest are Betchworth, Ockley and Abinger.
My grandfather, George John Worsfold was born in Betchworth in 1843.
He married Ruth Reddick in 1866. They emigrated to Trinidad, B.W.I. with
5
children. Ruth died in 1893 and George married Victoria Dunley in
1895.
George died in Trinidad 1910. Several of the children returned to
England and raised families. I am interested in making contact with anyone
who knows about this family. This includes the forebears of George John
and his descendents as well as Victoria Dunley. |

My Worsfold ancestry comes from the Reigate/Red Hill area of Surrey.
My great grandfather was Alfred Cyril Worfold (Al gets a kick out of that
one) and he was born in that area. His father, Jesse Robert Worsfold
appears on the 1881 census with his mother and father, Mary Ann (Webb)
and Robert Worsfold. They appear on the census as Worsfield and it
seems that Robert shows as being born in Nutfield. I'm looking for
any information I can find on this family. |
